One of the main differences between a score and the perception of a piece of music is how much our perception is dominated by the present moment.

Could a score be modified to show that?

In 1991, however, my computer wasn’t fast enough to make an animation that bulged like this, so it went into the pile of “back burner” projects, not to be revived until 2011, when I added a version of it to the version of the MAM Player I was working on:
