The rankings have two parts: coherence (compositional/structural value, A-F) and interest (entertainment value, 1-5). A1 is 'concert quality' music; B2 is gebrauchsmusik; C1 is a piece that I'm embarrassed by, compositionally, but which still might provide some entertainment, A3 is a piece that I did a good job on but is relatively boring, etc.
