Must say, you have very valid arguments. Interestingly however, my idea of how these ratios would be used visually tends to express itself in a combination of the quantitative ie:
and through motion, (which I will give an example of further down
the track) and 3 dimensional directional mapping. I see this as a strong contender for the purpose of representing dissonance (in the form of leading notes, resolutions, suspensions, bridging harmonies etc.
I also realise in, retrospect, that these ratios are only a part of a broader combination of analogous components which I am hoping to weave together into something coherent.
